Bring in the green!

In today’s age, all of us over here at AERA feel that going green isn’t really an option anymore, its more of a social responsibility.

AERA Creative realizes that the advertising industry is one of the major contributors to the consumption of global, natural resources. In turn we feel pationately about finding innovative ways to do our part to help tip the pendulum back in nature’s favor.

So what we are doing?

The AERA office uses Bullfrog Power as our power supplier, guaranteeing us green, carbon-free power from clean, emissions-free sources like wind power and low-impact water power. Bullfrog sources power exclusively from generators who meet or exceed the federal government’s Environmental Choice™ Program EcoLogo™ standard for renewable electricity. In addition AERA also uses CFL light bulbs ( Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs ) to shine light in our offices helping to reduce our own draw on daily power consumption. This coupled with energy smart daily practices helps us to sleep better at night knowing that we are making an effort to do our part.

AERA proudly uses Netfirms hosting as our choice for web based hosting, for ourselves and our clients. Netfirms has launched their own Netfirms Green program with a strict mandate to reduce energy consumption, landfill contributions, fuel emissions and chemical usage in their data centers and offices.

In our industry, paper is a daily source of consumption from internal daily business practices to the numerous advertising methods we promote. AERA Creative is doing our part internally to help turn our office into a paper less environment by turning to secure online and software based time management and corporate accounting solutions. We also advocate a weekly in-house recycling program for any renewable resources we do consume.

Huge leaps and bounds have been made in the past few years in regards to an increased quality in recycled paper stocks and AERA is proud to promote these solutions to our clients. Paper suppliers such as Neenah Paper exceed green standards by producing recycled stocks that are green seal certified, processed chlorine free, made from the use of renewable energy and lastly as a member of the Chicago Climate Exchange their voluntary involvement legally binds them to high standards in greenhouse gas emission reduction and trading systems.

At AERA all of our promotional and collateral material are made from sources that feel the same way we do about the environment. From sustainable organic cotton t-shirts and soy ink printing to company’s like Neenah who are taking big steps to forge a new era in energy and natural resource consumption.

We believe that today is a new AERA, one that requires us to keep our eyes open and not blind to our role in our environment. We are committed to continuing our search for new eco-friendly resources and we hope that our clients will feel the same.
